False eyelashes are perfect for special occasions or when you just want some optical drama. And they are not as difficult to apply as you might imagine. Here are the tips and techniques:

Strip or individual lashes?

Full or strip lashes span the entire length of your lash line, and dramatically enhances your lashes. Go for this if you're seeking a dramatic look. Single or clumps of individual lashes, on the other hand, are used on the outer corners of the eyes and to fill in sparse areas, so they look more subtle than the full set of lashes.

• False lashes
• Eyelash adhesive or glue
• Toothpick
• Small scissors (for strip lashes)

Applying strip falsies

1. Line your upper lash line with a kohl eyeliner and smudge slightly for a smoky effect. This will keep the lashband invisible later on.
